Logroscino Giancarlo

Giancarlo Logroscino, is professor of Neurology at University of Bari “Aldo Moro” and director of the Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases and Cerebral Aging of “Giovanni Panico Foundation” in Tricase, Puglia, Italy. He was Associate Professor of Neurology and Epidemiology at Harvard University, Boston, and Research Scientist at Columbia University (NYC) and Mayo Clinic in Rochester (MN).

He was a Chair of the Neuroepidemiology section and member of the Chair of Section of the Academy of Neurology (AAN) (years:  2013-2016). He was Chair of the Neuroepidemiology section and member of the Scientific Committee of the World Federation of Neurology (WFN) (years: 2007-2017).

His field of research is neurodegenerative diseases and he is the author of about 500 papers in prestigious journals including Lancet, JAMA, BMJ, Lancet Neurology, Brain, Annals of Neurology, Neurology. His research in Italy, in Europe and in various parts of the world including Asia and Latin America is supported by the European Commission, Center for Disease Control (CDC, Atlanta), the Ministry of Health, the Puglia Region and various public and private foundations. It is the UNIBA P.I. of the special project “Tecnopolo Puglia for precision medicine” for the advancement of clinical care with advanced technology on the area of diseases associated with the neurodegeneration and the aging brain.
