Dr William Theodore is Senior Investigator, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, Professor of Neurology at George Washington University, and Professor of Neurology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and President of the American Epilepsy Society. He received his BA degree from Harvard College and MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology (emeritus) and Epilepsy Medicine. He has received the American Epilepsy Society Outstanding Clinical Investigator and ILAE Ambassador for Epilepsy Awards. Past Chair of the American Academy of Neurology Epilepsy Section, and was Co-Editor-in-Chief of Epilepsy Research. He has worked with the Pan American Health Organization, World Health Organization and World Federation of Neurology on international projects and in teaching and research at the University of Zambia. His research focuses on functional imaging in epilepsy using MRI and PET.
